The small woven palm leaf trays with colorful rice, flower petals and some sweet biscuit are actually offerings to the gods, made by hand and placed on the various shrines, doorsteps, even motorcycles, every morning and every evening. The Joss sticks are part of the ceremony as the women say the prayers. Later the birds eat the rice and the dogs eat the cookies... "impermanence in all things".
